Yo Yo Reel Fishing Is The Coolest Thing!

  • Some anglers say yo-yo reel fishing can be used as a means of survival. How the yo-yo reel works is we tie a line around a branch. We bait the hook and draw out the length of line and set the yo-yo reel in the notch. When the fish takes the bait and gets hooked, the reel retracts wearing down the fish, bringing the fish to the surface. Putting reflective tape on them makes it easier to find in the dark.

The Mechanical And The Auto Yo-Yo ReelsAuto & Mechanical Yo-Yo

  •      The Mechanical Fisher yo-yo reel is made in the USA. It has a stainless steel spring which means it is never going to rust and you never have to oil it. It also has a galvanized steel case and a flat trigger. There is a much better trigger with less problems and is more sensitive.
  •      The Whites Auto-Fisher has a bit of a different trigger. It does not have a stainless steel spring. It comes with a tempered steel spring. Also, it comes with a tempered steel spring which is a strong spring like the kind found clocks. The spring is long-lasting. There is helpful to oil the spring when putting into storage. Now they can rust sooner with no maintenance.
  •      Both yo-yo fishing reels comes with 60 pound test nylon line. They are both made by the same manufacture out of Diamond City Arkansas. Both have two trigger setting, a deep notch and a shallow notch. The shallow notch is like a hair trigger. We can go shallow notch for smaller fish and deep notch for bigger fish. We are able to adjust the spring tension on both yo-yo fishing reels. This is yo-yo reel fishing.

Yo-Yo Reel Fishing Upgrade

    •      Here is to upgrade the yo-yo reel. We will need approximately a 6 inch or smaller spring and a 12 inch bungee cord. We can pick up these supplies at any hardware store.
    •      We attach the spring where the line goes to tie to the tree branch. Now we have our spring attached we crimp the end of the spring attached to the yo-yo so it does not slip off. We take the bungee cord and hook into the spring, on the opposite end, 3 to 4 rings and back out. Now we crimp the end of the bungee cord attached to the spring.
    •      The bungee cord allows us to tie onto the branch. We can hook it back into the spring. When the fish reaches the end of the line, the spring takes over the tension. When the spring relaxes, the line takes over…..

There Is A Bait Called Catfish Cheese

  •      There is a bait called catfish cheese. It stinks but it will reel in the catfish on yo-yo reel fishing. We just use a treble hook with a spring. The spring holds the cheese or punch bait or the dough.
  •      Some anglers say the catfish cheese works better than hot dogs or cut bait with yo-yo reel fishing. We find a limber branch that’s flexible and put the yo-yo reel about 6to 8 inches above the water.

Bank Yo-Yo Reel Fishing

  •      We can do bank yo-yo reel fishing. We simply have a long tie line. One that we can toss over a tall branch. We can just tie the line to a simple pine cone. Once it is over the branch, we tie the line to the hole in the yo-yo reel and cut off excess line. Then bait the yo-yo reel and adjust our line. Just toss the yo-yo reel out into the water and we are good.
  •      Another way to bank yo-yo reel fishing in the open is to rig a tripod with branches. We will need the wind to be at our back when setting up the tripod otherwise the wind will blow the line back to the shore.
  •      Now we want the middle stick to be longer to hang over the water. We set the two front legs at the edge of the bank or into the water. We can use a long tie line. After tying on the line, we take the rest of the to the middle of the tripod. The reason being if the initial tie line comes loose, it is tied securely onto the tripod We pull out the length of the line to go into the water and toss it into the water.

A Floating Yo-Yo RigFloat Rig Supplies

  •      There is such a thing as a floating yo-yo rig. Here are the supplies needed; full length of 1 1/4 schedule 40 PVC pipes; 4 1 1/4 90 degree elbows; a 1 1/4 tee; 1 1 1/4 45 degree angles; 1 1 1/4 threaded adapter; 1 1 1/4 threaded end cap and an eyelet bolt.
  •      We cut three 2 foot PVC pipe sections for the bottom. Connect the four 90 degree elbows. The last side, cut two 1 foot PVC pipe sections connected by the tee in the middle. WE cut two 11 inch PVC pipes. We connect one 11 inch PVC pipes to the tee and the 45 degree PVC.Then one 11 inch PVC pipes from the 45 degree PVC.
  •      Now put on the 1 1/4 threaded adapter onto the 11 inch PVC pipes. Drill a hole in the middle of the threaded end cap and attach the eyelet bolt into the threaded end cap. Attach the threaded end cap onto the 1 1/4 threaded adapter. We glue all of these pieces together
  •      We place the yo-yo reel onto the eyelet bolt. And place the yo-yo fishing rig into the water.Floating Rig

Yo-Yo Reel Fishing Can Be Used In Many Ways

  •      You know we can use yo-yo reel fishing for ice fishing too! Here are some ways we can do yo-yo fishing. Here shows whether we have a boat to go yo-yo fishing or still go yo-yo fishing with no boat. What a way to go fishing with no fishing pole!

Looking Into Night Time Bass Fishing Tips

  •      Have you ever heard some anglers talk about going fishing when it is a full moon? There are lots of light during that time. Here we are to learn what types of bait work well in a full moon or a new moon. The darkness does throw off our perception. We may cast to short or cast to far. It just takes some practice of fishing at night. There is some great night time bass fishing tips we are going to find.

Night Time Bass Fishing Tips

  •      We start off with going to the bottom fishing slow. We use a big worm and a jig with a big creature bait. We can fish off a boat or bank fishing, we slow down when fishing on the bottom. It’s going to be a worm or a jig.
  •      Here’s a night time bass fishing tip. Fishing at night, the fish go after one or the other. The fish is either biting after the jig or the Texas rig. This is where we need to be ready to do both, fishing at night time.
  •      We want to rig the Texas rig with a big hook. We place a bobber stop about two inches above the worm, then a brass weight and a glass bead. Use a Ten inch Black Powder worm. The reason we use a brass weight and a glass bead is to make a lot of racket, getting the attention of the fish.
  •      Now with the jig with a creature bait, we use the color black or black on blue. With the jig, the darker the night, the darker the color. The lighter the night we go natural colors, brown or brown and green pumpkin.
  •      With these baits we fish them on the bottom, slow, shake them, then drag, then shake them. We want to make a little ruckus down there. On the darker nights we may want to put a rattle on jig. On the nights the fish are biting on the Texas rig, we may want to try a brush hog.

Now For The Crank Baits And Spinner Baits

  •      We use deep crank baits at night time. On color, we go with chartreuse blue or white any shade. And on dark, dark nights go with black or red.
  •      The Ten XD and the DD22 go with dark colors. All have deep drive on the bottom and all make lots of noise and rattles. If there is a lot of light in the night time, go with bright colors. On a full moon for example, there is more light and the fish can see, like the chartreuse or white. The less light at night time, the fish go by feel.
  •      If the crank bait is going deep and getting stuck, change up the crank bait. If fishing shallower, do not use a crank bait.
  •      Here’s a night time bass fishing tips. If we are fishing in a lake that has heavy shad population, throw a spinner bait with a double willow. The lighter the night time, the lighter the color. Every spinner bait sounds different under water. Somehow the spinner bait with the double willow mimic a shad very well.
  • If you are looking into building your own boat, check this out…..

Let’s Not Forget The Chatter bait And The Swim Jig

  •      It is not heavy shad population, go with the chatter bait or a swim jig. The chatter bait has a better hook ratio. With the chatter bait, all the vibration is in the line with the hook. The fish tend to take in the whole thing. There’s where the hook ratio comes in. We may want to start with the chatter bait with low shad population. That was a good night time bass fishing tips.
  •      The swim jig we start with the California swim jig 1/2 ounce wit a 4.8 chi tech because of the large hook. Our colors are chartreuse and blue, called a citrus shad. And a tactical shad and any bluegill colors. Again more the lighter night time, we go with bold color. And the darker the night time, we go with natural colors.
  •      The swim jig can appear to look like a number of things. IE. shad, bluegill or a bass ect. With the swim jig we can slow down and reel it real slow on the bottom and when it bumps on something, just let it free fall and reel it real slow to get the inactive fish. Or fish it fast, pause and twitch and draw reaction strikes at feeding time.
  •      Some anglers say in the water, the skirt puffs out making the swim jig to appear big. The bass can see in the dark. They see the swim jig and start to follow it. Now we are reeling it real slow, dragging bottom. When, the swim jig hits something (IE rock) it gives a shock wave. And what happens the skirt puffs up. It’s mimics a startled bait fish and the bass strikes the swim jig.
  •      If we want to try swim bait for night time fishing, we should try a chi tech 6.8 swim bait. Rig it up weedless and drag the bottom fishing.

Saved The Best For Last

  •      Now for the top water weight baits. If fishing around cover of any kind or grass, we need a bait with a lip on it. It will work good on bank fishing. There’s going to be some good night time bass fishing tips.
  •      Here’s two weight bait with a lip we can try. A BBZ 8 inches and the Spro BBz 50 rat. A weight bait pushes a V wave in the water The fish will see the V wave and get up on it and will strike. At night time the fish can not tell the difference if it is real or not.
  •      The BBZ 8 inches is reasonably affordable. It is also short and stumpy with a large profile and has a fiber tail. The tail is flexible and does not get in the way of a strike. If we get a strike at night time, the fish will go for the middle The odds are high to get that hook.
  •      The Spro BBZ 50 rat is reasonably affordable too. It swims with the head down and the tail up. It makes a bulging wake. The tail does not get in the way of the strike and the fish will grab one or both hooks. It make a lot noise to get the fishes’ attention.
  •      Here we have a Spro BBZ 50 and it comes in four colors. We fish this bait in open water. It makes a lot of noise, has a soft tail and no lip. The fish will strike on the hooks.

So, When Do We Do Night Time Fishing

  •      We can fish all night until it gets light. We want to fish night time 3 days before and after a Full Moon. And we want to fish night time 3 day before and after a New Moon. The fish feed more during these peak periods.
  •      When fishing in murky or muddy waters, fish during a Full Moon. The moon brightens the waters.
  •      When fishing clear waters, the best time to fish is during a New moon.

Here is one more night time bass fishing tips is…braided line works best, it gives us a faster reaction time.

The Making Of The Jug Fishing Rigs

  •      We will need to check out our state regulation on jug fishing rigs. ( it may be called jug lines ) Here in Oklahoma we can have no more than five hooks per line and twenty jug lines per person. A legal jug line is vertical line suspended from a non-metallic or non-glass floating device, drifting free or anchored and has the owners name and address attached and has been attended at least once every twenty-four hours to the jug fishing rigs.

Here Are The Supplies We Need For Jug Fishing Rigs

  •      We will need 1/2 inch PVC thin wall, not the schedule 40 PVC, water noodle (1/2 inch diameter), 1/2 inch PVC caps, small eye hooks PVC glue, 5/8 re barb, size four circle hooks, 3/6 slip sinkers, #3 swivels, fifty pound omniflex fishing line and reflective tape (optional). These are the supplies we are going to need to make the jug fishing rigs.

Let’s Dive Right Into It

Jug fishing rig-style 1
  •      We cut the 1/2 inch PVC pipe to twenty-four inches long. The noodles can be anywhere from thirteen to fifteen inches long. We can measure the length and dividing it by three or four and getting the most pieces out of one noodle. The diameters of the noodles are different sizes. If we have one larger than 1/2 inches, we can silicone the noodle to the PVC pipe.
  •      Now slides the noodle onto the 1/2 inch PVC pipe. Take one end of the PVC pipe and put some PVC cement onto the pipe. Now put one of the end caps onto the PVC pipe. Cut the 5/8 inch re barb between two 1/2 and three inches long. Place the re barb into the open end of the PVC pipe. Now we get an end piece and drill a pilot hole into it. Slightly smaller than the small eye hook. We do this so the small eye hook is water tight
  •      Glue the end cap onto the pipe and put glue on the small eye hook too. We screw the small eye hook into the end cap up to the end of the threads. Put the # three swivel onto the eye hook. Tie the eye circle hook with a Snell knot onto the fifty pound omniflex fishing line. Measure six to eight feet of fishing line and cut it Now slides the 3/16 slip sinker onto the fishing line onto the swivel.
  •       We can if we want to put a stopper below for the slide sinker above the hook to keep the slide sinker off the bait. Then just roll the fishing line around the noodle to transport them. Now the reflective tape is optional. If it is used, we put it on the opposite end cap where the fishing line is attached. And now we have a jug fishing rigs.

This Is A Different Style

Jug fishing rig-style 2
  •      Here is a different style of Jug fishing rigs. This jug has a fifty feet of fishing line on it. We can fish this jug at ten feet, twenty feet, thirty feet, 40 feet, or fifty feet. We are able to adjust the depth of the fishing line. The jug has four circle hooks on it. It’s a lot harder to get off a circle than it is a J hook.
  •      This angler went from a green to orange noodle because he can see the orange noodle farther than the green noodle. The hardest task of jug fishing is finding your jug. This angler uses a trout line clip at the end of the fishing line to attach the fishing line to the weight.

Go With 125 LB Nylon Braid Fishing Line

  •      Goes with braided nylon. We use a roll of 250 feet 125 lb green nylon braid. We need the leader line seventy-two test that goes through the eye hole of the hook and to be thin enough to go with the twisted braid.
  •      Pick up barrel swivels size five. For the weight we can use a red solo cup filled with cement with a wire to attach to the main line. The weight comes to two pounds. When putting in wire, put a slight hook into the wire inside the cement. It helps so the wire does not pull out of the cement. We can find the wire at any hardware store.
  •      We will need 3/8 inch inside diameter PVC or the tubing you hook up a water line to your refrigerator. Cut the tubing 31/4 inch long. One tube for each hook. Drill a hole as small as the main fishing line. We want to tie two knots approximately eight inches apart. And the reason being, we will be able to change the leader line.
  •      What’s nice about having the trout clip on the end of the fishing line is where we will be able to clip it on to any weight. Now for this jug fishing rig, we can grab the main fishing line and make a half hitch knot on the bottom of the jug, which has a tee-joint, and make the line any depth we want and it will not slide off the bottom of the jug.

We Use One Inch PVC

  •      We use one inch PVC. One piece is ten foot, 120 inches long and we can get six sticks at twenty inches long. Also, we use one inch caps and one inch tee joints. A noodle that is fifty-four inches, we divide that into four to have four pieces of noodles. We use one inch large hole noodles
  •      The first things that are going to tear up are the foam noodles. Now there is enough room to cut off the end cap, slide on the new foam and glue on a new cap, which makes it shorter. Unless, foam can be pulled over it with a tight fit.
  •      To build these onces we cut out one inch pipe, slide on the cut noodle and glue on the end one inch cap and the one inch tee-joint. Now drill one hole the size of the main fishing line just above the tee-joint.
  •      We take the 125 lb nylon braided line and burn the end of it. Real quick, pull off the excess on the heated line without burning ourselves, making the end pointed. Slide the line into the hole we drilled, looking for the line to come out at the tee-joint. Once, we pull it through the tee-joint we tie a knot at the end of the line. Now tie two more knots on top of each other. To cinch the knots we use pliers at the end of the main line till it tightens. Burn the end of the main line like we did before pulling off the excess without burning ourselves one more time.
  •      Cut fifty feet of the 125 lb nylon braided line and wind the main fishing line around the top of the noodle. Each wrap is approximately twelve inches. After wrapping the main fishing line, we burn the end of it. Once again, pull the excess on the heated line thinning it out This is so it will fit through the materials.

Rigging The Leader Lines

  •      We are going to rig up four hook leader lines. After we have out four tubes cut at three 1/4 inch, four twisted braided leader lines cut at eleven 1/2 inches long, five barrel swivels size five and four eye circle size six hooks.
  •      We will need to run the main fishing line through the tubing. To make it easier to thread the line through the tubing, we’ll use some three lb mono filament.Cut off a small piece and tie a slip knot and place onto the main fishing line and cut off excess fishing line.
  •      Line up the barrel swivel hole with the hole in the tubing. Take the mono filament line and feed it through the tubing and the barrel swivel and through to the other side of the tubing. Now guide the main fishing line through the tubing and the barrel swivel and pull through. The reason for the small hole in the tubing is so it’s tight and will not slip through a single knot. We repeat the process with the other three. ( you can put more on according to your state regulation if you choose too.). Once, we have all four on the main line, now cut off the mono filament line.
  •      Burn the end of the main fishing line. Place the remaining barrel swivel on the end of the line. We now place out fourth tubing the distance we want it to be from the end of main fishing line where out weight is going to be.
  •      Tie a single knot at the place of the tubing, tie a loose single knot. Use a screw driver to push the barrel swivel through the tubing. Pull it out a bit and at the top of the tubing is where we want the top single knot to be. We work it to that spot.

Don’t Put The Hook’s To Close Together

  •      We do not want the hook’s to be to close together. Think about the struggle and mess with two fish together. Arm length apart will be good, that maybe six foot apart. WE repeat the process three more times
  •      Burn the ends of the leader lines. Fold the leader in half and tie a knot as close as we can get at the end of the leader line. Run the leader line through the front of the eye of the hook and slip the leader line now through the other end of the leader line. Now feed the leader line through the barrel swivel and the hook through the leader line. We want to make sure the knot is small enough to slide through the tubing. We now repeat the process three more times.
  •      Let’s clip the trout clip to the barrel swivel at the end of the main fishing line. And clip the trout clip onto the weight. Wrap the main fishing line around the foam, clip the hooks to the top of the foam and keep wrapping to end.

There We Have Two Great Idea’s For Jug Fishing Rigs

  •      The first jug claims it can be made for $2.00 per jug. The ladder claims it costs $6.00 per jug. These jugs are popular for cat fishing. People find these noodles cool and neat. There is great success rate using them. May this article to be interesting as well as informative

Lake Arbuckles Is Good Bass Fishing In Oklahomalake-fishing

  •    You can catch bass here with the Carolina Rig. We do not hop it, we just pull the pole then reel up the slack and repeat. We want to drag the bottom. There’s the Jerk bait, we titch twitch and then pause and repeat. The bass will hit on the pause. On a soft plastic worm or a soft plastic shad, the bass are hitting them. The Biffle bug is another. We cast out to the rock bottom and slowly reel back, bumping it here and there.
  •    Using all of these baits, we can catch bass at Arbuckles Lake. Would you believe it, we can go downtown Oklahoma city and fish for bass too.
  •    Okmulgee Lake, First In Oklahoma “Trophy Bass Lake”
  •    The Okmulgee lake is designated Oklahoma first ” Trophy Bass Lake “. The Okmulgee lake is small in its size. It is surrounded by a lot of vegetation. There is a lot of reeds and eel grass.
  •    We can use a swim jig with a hammer crawl. For this jig we just go along popping it. Just keeping it below the surface. Also, there is the Biffle bug with we are flipping it. Always watch our line when flipping in shallow banks. This is important to catching more bass. The bass are hitting these baits.

Ice Fishing Tips For Crappie

  •           These ice fishing tips for crappie is in the middle of the winter. Lake ice fishing is popular. With the right equipment, ice fishing is fairly easy. As well as wearing the right gear too. Ice fishing can take on a search mode until we find that school of crappie. Team work works out well and betters the odd.

Finding The Right Spot To Start FishingJigging rod

  •           An ice fishing tips for crappie is to have a depth map of the lake where we will be fishing. This tells us the right depth and the right bottom to the conditions we are looking for. This helps us to eliminate the other areas in the middle of winter.
  •           When we are over the deep basin, the crappie are right on the bait. Crappie fish are feeders. We find an area of the lake that has to be a consistent bottom without having any hills in it. The area is flat with a soft bottom like mud. The depth will need to be 30 to 35 feet. Now here is where the warm water is in the lake in the winter.
  •           The water closest to the surface is around 32 degrees and shallower water in the afternoon as the water heats up. This keeps the crappie’s metabolism high so they will feed towards the surface. During ice fishing the crappie do not chase food.
  •           We want to have 10 ice holes. Two ice holes are not going to work. The crappie are always moving around.icefishing

Using The Right Kind Of Tackle

  •           Ice fishing tips for crappie is to use tungsten. The lead jigs sink slower. The tungsten jigs sink faster. When the crappie are moving through, timing is important because the fish are always moving.
  •           We use a jig with on the ball double eye hook and a crappie jig. They both will work for the black crappie and the white crappie too.
  •           The black crappie tend to go for the ones that look like insects and larvae. The white crappie tend to go for the ones that look and moves like minnows. We can use a soft plastic minnow.
  •           The 1/16 and 1/32 ounce head are good. We have to use the small ones in the winter. The chartreuse and white works great for black crappie Ice fishing tips for crappie is to use the 3 lb sufix ice magic line. The diameter of a higher lb line will cause the line to sink slower. Timing is important.
  •           Crappie love live bait. From minnows and wax worms. We need to change the live bait after 15 minute or so. The live bait looses it scent.

We May Catch A Black Crappie Or A White CrappieCrappie

  •           The black crappie and the white crappie change colors from season to season. Now if we count the spines at the dorsal fin we can tell the difference between the black crappie and the white crappie. The black crappie has seven or eight spines. And the white crappie has only six spines.
  •           The Black crappie and the white crappie feed in the morning and night. Crappies have this energy conserving eating pattern. They find their prey by sight by stopping to hunt. Here the crappie save their energy by not cruising to eat. By knowing this, we have an advantage. Once we locate a school of fish, we can keep dropping our line catching fish.
  •           Due to the cold weather, the crappie are running slow.

How To Find More Fish On Our Transducer

  •           When we drop our transducer in to the water we want to give it a swing. The reason for this is to see where the fish are at. We may drop it straight down and not see any fish. By swinging the transducer we may see the fish in front but not straight down. This expands the area of fishing

A Few Necessary ThingsTeamwork

  •           Now a lot of anglers will go fish where other anglers have bored the ice holes. And that may work out if we do not have the equipment needed to strike out on our own.
  •           By being equipped with a power auger, portable sonar, a jigging rod, assortment of jigs and bait needed to go out on our own. And there is the basics, sled to haul the equipment, bait bucket, seat and minnow net.
  •           We may need to move around the ice holes to find a school of fish.

Learning Some Basics About Trout Fishing For Beginners

  •       Fishing is exciting. And learning to fish for another kind fish is even more exciting. Trout fish can be found at lakes and streams. At these places they can be stocked trout fish as well. Here is a few simple things we can carry with us for trout fishing for beginners. It’s helpful to carry a nail clippers to cut the fishing line and a nail file to sharpen the hook. The hook can become dull from bumping off the rocks.

Trout Are SensitiveTrout Fish

  •       We can use a light to medium weight spinning rod for trout fishing for beginners. Trout are sensitive fish. We will need to use a low resistant float. The reason being the round floats are heavier and the trout may spit out the hook. The low resistant float, the trout does not feel the float as much due to the tear shaped of the float.

Size 6-10 Hook On A 2 lb Leader

  •      We can start out with a size 6-10 hook. Bait barbs are helpful to have on the hooks. This helps keep the bait on the hook, IE. worms. This size hook works well with live small minnow bait. We need to put on Two split shot weights. We can space them one foot apart. By doing this we keep the fishing line to stay vertical.

  •      We use a two pound leader that the hook is attached to the fishing line using a loop knot. We can use a swivel in place of the loop knots too. The trout fish are smart enough to know that something is not right. Using heavier fishing line, the fish pick up by seeing the heavier line.

Lake Fishing For Trout For BeginnersTrout fishing on the lake

  •       When putting the live minnow on the hook, we hook it behind the dorsal fin so the live minnow will swim. Fishing with live minnows, we need the timing right to set the hook. When using the low resistant float and the float pulls down into the water, we wait one second before we set the hook. If we miss a bite, leave it alone for a few seconds to see if the fish strikes again.
  •      We also should set our drag fairly easy because of the two pound leader, we let the fish run some of it.

Now When It Comes To Stream FishingTrout fishing at the stream

The stream fishing we take off the float. This is all about presenting the bait to the fish. Now the bait can be pulled along the bottom. When this happens, the trout fish see this as not being natural and not bite the bait.                     We are using the wax worm bait for stream trout fishing. We feed the wax worm bait along the hook. The trout fish will take the bait in its mouth.       In stream trout fishing for beginners we look for fallen down trees. The trout will sit just on the other side of it in the calm water. Also, we look for two streams that come together. Look for deep spot too.

The Biggest Trout Fishing For Beginners Mistakes

  •      Do not make to many casts in the same place if we are not getting bites. Move on. Streams are more clear water therefore the trout fish are more likely to pick up on our vibrations. We will find more hungry trout fish and increase our catch rate.
  •      Do not walk up to a pool of water. Cast into the pool of water from a distance. It is less likely the trout fish will see us from a distance
  •      When observing we need to stand in the shadows. The trout peripheral vision will see us if we are standing to long observing to long.
  •       The rod or reel may spark a reflection from the sun and possibly jewel too. These things can reflect into the water
  •       The trout can pick up on vibrations of noise. We do not want to be to loud. We maybe fish with others. NOISE does affect the Fish.
  •      We do not wear bright color clothing. We want to blend in with our surrounding. The trout can see the bright colors with their peripheral vision.
  •      Do not fish down stream. The trout are facing up stream waiting for the food. The trout can see us walking down stream towards them. Walk up stream casting up stream.

Bass Fishing In Muddy Water Is Easier Then It Sounds

When the water becomes muddy, the bass move up to shallow water. Muddy is one foot or less that you can see in depth in the water. As the muddy water rise’s, the bass move up into the banks. The bass do not like that they can not see. Bass fishing in muddy water, the bass eat whatever is coming off the bank. There is craw fish and worms on the bank. Now the bait fish will do the same as the bass in these conditionsFishing In The Rain

Where We Find The Bass

The bass are hiding in the thick cover against the banks. This is where we keep casting many times. For example using a Texas rig we flip it and bounce around the thick cover. This applies to bank and boat for bass fishing in muddy water. It may take 25 casts before we are right in front of the bass

The bass are up in logs, stump or thick brush. These are the places the bass feel comfortable since they can not see in the muddy water.

Here Is Some Things We Need

We do not use green pumpkin, brown and any color you can see the sun through it. Now we use black and blue, black and purple and black and black on our lures. Bright colors are good to use when the sun is out. The bass can pick up on these colors in the muddy water.

In bass fishing in muddy water we know that bass can not see. The bass use their lateral line to the vibration. Here is where we are going to use vibrating baits, rattles and creature bait that have a lot of action

Some Lures And Baits That Work Well In Muddy Water

One of the lures we can use is a Texas Rig Creature Baits. A jig is a good bait to fish with. Use a jig that has a big wide head with a rattle. We want a trailer on it like a Rage Bug and a Zoom Chunk. Our colors are black with blue, red and purple. We can cut the skirt shorter to give it action. It will not get hung up in the cover.

The Chatter Baits. Project Z is a good one to use with a matching trailer. This lure we use in grass cover. With the squarebill crank bait we are not going with dark colors. The chartreuse color is the one we go with. With the squarebill crank bait we chose is the Six Sence Flat 75. Fishing with a squarebill crank bait we will bump it along.

The spinnerbait. The Colorado Blade and the Willow Leaf Blade.are the two to chose. We want to use a 3/8 ounce in bass fishing in muddy water.

The Conditions We Are Looking

In muddy water the line is not important because the bass can not see it. Although we fish 50-65 lb line because we are working thick cover. For crank bait, chatter bait and spinner bait we run 15-17 lb line.

When fishing off a boat, the trick is to get the line to the shore. With the over flow of rains muddy water, we try to get close to the bank. The bass are sitting up into the thick cover in the shallow muddy water against the bank.

Now when the water starts to fall, the bass are going to pull out to the outside of the cover.

Do not be afraid of getting inside of the thick cover. If a fish grabs the bait, then figure out to get him after we set the hook. Take the risk and each time it gets easier.

Bass Fishing In Muddy Water

On a positive note, we can get real close to the fish without spooking them in muddy water. We can also get closer to those docks too. Here we make small pitches towards the posts and we get that bait in front of them, they are going to bite it.

Bass Fishing Frog Lures Are The In Thing In Fishing

Bass fishing frog lures seem to be popular. From the rod and the reel and the frog lure. About the frog lure, the fish see the sides and the bottom and nothing else. Black, white and yellow are good colors to use. We use a heavy action rod-7’3″-65lb power pro-grade and a good quality reel with a good drag and fast.

Straight Retrieve Frog LureTeckal Sprinker Frog Lure

For the straight retrieve we have the Teckel Sprinker frog lure. We throw the teckel sprinker frog lure out there and reel it back in. The frog lure tail is thumping with action while we reel it in. By holding the pole higher than walking the frog lure. The fish pulls the pole down and we react by pulling it up and setting the hook.

Mat Fishing Frog Lures

Frog lures built for the mat fishing. Ish’s Phat Matt Daddy frog lure is for mat fishing. It happens to be alike the River2sea Bully Wa2 frog lure except its flat. By the bottom being flat, its sits well on top of the mat.

The Ish Phat Matt Daddy frog lure is made for the thickest and worst vegetation easily. This has a softer and collapsible body. And a sharp hook that gives it a good hook set.

The Spiro King Daddy frog lure is good for a BIG fish. It’s body is Huge. IT is a soft frog lure that collapses down to nothing. When the body collapses, the hook tips slant up for a full hook set. This bass fishing frog lure helps with long casts and lands on it’s belly. The Spiro King Daddy frog lure walks in open water and plows through weeds. We can also trim the long legs to our like.

Poping Frog Lures

These are frog lures that we fish on the edges of leaves and over the top of grass

The River2sea Spittin Wa frog lure is a big bass fishing frog lure. The frog lure has a cupped mouth for spittin and walking. It has bubble jets located on the mouths bottom allowing it to leave a bubble trail on top of the water. The River2sea Spittin Wa frog lure is great at walking. By aggressive taps, it has a chugging noise. It has a hollow body which collapses when bit, allowing the sharp hooks to grab. It can be used for mat and open water fishing too.

The Jackall Gauacho frog lure is slender and a round bend hook. It also has a shaped cupped mouth and preforms a water spray with each twitch, walk and pop. It is right at home in the thickest cover. The bend of the hook makes help in the snag areas

All Around Frog LuresRiver2sea Bully Wa2

The river2sea Bully Wa2 frog lure has a keeled face that walks the frog lure real good. Now when it is in vegetation, it tends to sit to one side. This causes it to struggle on the heavy mats. This bass fishing frog lure has a sealed hook channel that prevents leaks and raises up it’s float method.

The Snag Proof Bobby’s Perfect frog lure does better on mats. The snag proof is lighter so it does not have the weight to push on the mat. This has a wide frog hook. The wide hook helps the body to collapse below the points. This gives us more of a chance to hook the fish.

The Snag Proof Bobby Perfect frog lure is made with a tube through the center of the body that the hook slides into. It is made this way so no air gets in the body therefor it does not sink.

Another feature is the bass fishing frog lure walks very well because of the trimmed part of the lure that the legs run through. It reduces the weight on the end that gives less resistance and material for setting the hook. The snag proof bobby perfect frog lure does have inside rattlers too.

We Have Gone Thru The Bass Fishing Frog Lures

We need to walk or pop the frog lures. On a hollow body frog lure we can cut 1″ off the legs. Both legs need to be even. We bend the hook out and up as well. This causes a better bite with the frog lure. WE can put small B&B’s or small split shots down the little hole in the rear of the bottom to rattle. To walk the frog we tap, tap,tap and tap. We bring it down, then up a second apart.

Using Swimbait For Bass Fishing Can Be Exciting

  •           I found here some tackle and methods for swimbait for bass fishing. We need to look at our location. Color of the waters. The type of cover we will be fishing in. Are we in open waters?
  •           When fishing with smaller baits, we can use a jig rod with heavy action. The larger baits, its suggested using a Dobyns 807 mag rods. And all the rest of the medium baits its suggested to use Fury 806 affordable rods. We want to see that we have swimbait reels. For the line its recommended a heavy braid 65lb and 80lb. They have found at this lb line it has not broken on backlash.

The Glide Swimbait For Bass Fishingsoft swimbait

  •           We have two glide swimbaits. The cover and open water. And they are not the same thing. The cover swimbait tend to be cheaper too. They are smaller baits as well. We pick bold colors. This is so the fish see it farther away.
  •           Open water glide swimbaits are famous for the glide swimbaits. We can spend lots of money on these swimbaits. There is some in the mid-range that work quite well. The trick to the open water glide is its availability, the price is not out of range, they are consistent and they catch fish. Some good ones are the Hinkel, 230 gain craft and the S waiver 200. The S waiver 200 swimbait can have a wide enough glide to be an open water swimbait and tight enough glide to fish in the cover. The S waiver 200 is a cross over and will fish both. The 230 gain craft is a refined swimbait.

Cover Glide Swimbaits Are Used Around Cover

  •           Open water glide swimbaits is a giant slow swim and relying on the fish to see it and follow it and eat it. The cover glide swimbait we used to fish around cover and tighter actions. Here we are trying to draw the fish out with aggressive action .
  •           Let’s look at the s waiver 168. We fish around a stump or tree or some brush. Throw the swimbait up near it. Reel up near the object slow, then two twitches and now repeat. Another cover glide swimbait is the Game craft 178. We have the one called Sneaky peek.
  •           We can use swimbait for bass fishing in boat docks, trees, brush and debris. Also in all colors of water. Those are the conditions we can use the cover glide swimbait.

Soft Swimbait Have Their On Style

  •           Soft swimbait for bass fishing. We use a natural bait in clear waters. We cast in the clear open water when the sun is high. The big bass eaters are hunting in the open waters. They see the distance in the waters when the sun is high. We just run the bait right over the top of the fish.
  •           With some soft swimbait we can use the off spray boot tail style. The reason being, the boot tail style gives a lot of action in medium reeling. It works well in dingy water.
  •           The trash soft swimbait we fish slower with. We cast out and reel in slowly across the bottom. The fat soft swimbait seems to stand up better while reeling.
  •           There is the kytech 6.8 and the 7.8 kytech soft swimbait. On the larger 7.8 kytech we can rig it on a beast stick. On the 6.8 kytech we can rig a beast too. Either we fish on the bottom with the beast or above the bottom above the debris with a different rigging fishing like a spinner bait.

Now For The Multi-Jointed Swimbaitsmulti-jointed soft swimbait

  •           Multi-jointed swimbaits in the 7in seem to be a good size to fish with. We can go up to a 8in size as well. The 7in bull shad works really well in getting plenty of bites as well as those big bites too.
  •           This category of swimbaits fish differently than the others. The multi-jointed swimbait is seen as an aggressive bait. We fish the muliti-jointed swimbait at high speeds, then pause, then high speed, repeat. Take the pause at the stomp or brush.
  •           Take this multi-jointed swimbait for bass fishing in the warm afternoon when the fish are moving up on the bank. This is a great time to use the multi-jointed swimbait. When the fish are moving around we fish at dawn and dusk. Now again we go with bold colors, they seem to work really good.

The Hardware Is Important Too

  •           We want to check the hardware on the swimbait. We may have to put on double split rings. We also check to see if they have hard hangers and if not replace them. This gives the hardware more movement for the range of motion. The fish can shake off the hook without the proper hardware
